Tobi’s birthday present, party and cake

9 May

I’ve had a particular piece of fabric for a very long time, it used to hang as curtains in Tobit’s bedroom when he was a little boy.  I have recently taken to wondering what to do with it and then I came across a tutorial the other day at Sew Katie Did which gave me the idea.

So here is the finished project

Not only did he get such a groovy present we then had a joint party at the Heavitree Bowling Club with a friend, Owain who was celebrating his birthday too.  The rain stayed off and despite only a few ever having played bowls before, 60 adults and nearly as many children joined in the fun.  We served cream teas and lots of cake, not sure I want to do any more baking for a long time!  Owain’s mum Sue made a fantastic cake which also needs eating!

With the birthday celebrations over I am hoping to find more time to think and do something about the projects that have been whirling around in my head.

  1. It’s looking good for 30 years old 🙂 I’ll have a hunt to see if I have any bits squirrelled away, though I think I passed on everything
