Some lovely gifts for me!

30 Mar

I mentioned a few weeks ago at the end of Dress a Girl Around the World that I had won the giveaway on Vanessa’s blog and promised I would show the lovely things that I had won.

So first of all is this amazing goldfish linocut made by Amy and available in her During Quiet Time shop.  It is so smart, she is one clever lady and Tobi now feels inspired to do some lino-cut printing himself!  Not sure where he will find the time but there is no harm in dreaming!  Think we might frame it and hang it on the wall up the stairs…

I was able to choose some fabric from Amy at Pinked Fabrics (and yes the fabrics do come pinked!) it was a really hard decision but when they arrived I was delighted with my choice.

A half yard bundle of Michael Miller fabrics

Some times I feel like have a lot of fabulous prints and not enough simple plain to co-ordinate or contrast so for me Ta dots in tangerine and tiny gingham in lime are great.

Honk, Honk in brown is just wonderful

and Beep, Beep in aqua so groovy

I can feel some more boy projects coming on!

Finally the wonderful Vanessa at LittleBigGirlStudio sent me this:

It arrived this morning,  you know how lovely it is to receive a beautifully wrapped gift?  This was just fabulous especially as I’ve spent the last 3 days with my little boy suffering from a vomiting bug, it really made my day (and annoyed my daughter because she wanted to rip it open and I wouldn’t let her!).  Made by her own fair hands a camera strap cover.

Apologies for the not great photo but I took a couple and then couldn’t wait to try it out on the strap and then it’s impossible to take a photo of it!  The main fabric is an Amy Butler print (which sadly you can’t see much of) the blue linen print at the bottom is very clever – a pocket for your lens cap, no excuses for losing it now!  Vanessa has these for sale in her Etsy shop (and her photo’s are great!).  From my limited use of the strap (remember it only arrived today!) I can say that it is very comfy, she has padded it which is a real bonus especially as the strap that comes with the camera doesn’t appear to be designed with comfort in mind!

Thank you so much lovely ladies for the giveaway goodies and to Vanessa for organising the sew-along.
