Fabric in the post

24 Nov

I’ve been meaning to show these but time and memory have not allowed until now. A couple of months ago the lovely Emily at Strawberry Patch read the same blog post as me about a Modern Christmas Charm swap being organised in the US (sorry I can’t remember or find who it was).  I was tempted for a very short time but decided the time and expense really weren’t worth it, I think Emily felt much the same but she was not so easily put off and organised one for us British, Irish and any one else who wanted to join in.  So fabric duly cut and sent off, this is what I received back:

A pile of 5″ square Christmas fabrics, 2 of each design.

So far I’ve done nothing with them, I’m not sure I’m going to have time but I might do something with them by Christmas 2012!  Thanks very much Emily for organising this.

The other parcel of delights I received was from Pink Castle Fabrics, I spent my $50 winnings from Little Big Girl Studio and this is what I chose:

Does it look everso slightly boring?

I was tempted to go for interesting, cool, exciting prints but my stash is crying out for the addition of solids and basics that I can coordinate with my existing collection!  So I was very restrained, I chose 1/2 yard Ghost Geo Black and White Pac Man Fabric by Kyla May for Timeless Treasures for some geeky/techy projects that I have up my sleeve, 1/2 yard each of navy blue, orange, fuschia and turquoise Metro Living Circles, 1/2 yard each of Heath Black and Metal Gray, 2 yards of Kona Snow, 1 yard each of Kona Robins Egg Blue, medium Gray and Coal and lastly a yard of Amelia Orange by Moda.

And yes it did cost a little bit more than $50 but what’s a girl to do when she knows that she can fit up to 10 yards in the same envelope for the same price as 5, 6 or 7 and it would cost me twice as much to buy in the UK (sorry UK fabric stores I don’t do it very often!)?  So I did fill up the envelope and waited for the postman to call with a customs charge but no, he just handed it over!  Yippee! Not that I would ever encourage UK folks to buy direct from the US but the service I received from Pink Castle Fabrics was fantastic and it only took a week for it to arrive!

So what am I going to do with it all?  Silly question, of course I don’t really have a clue!
