It’s a wrap

9 Jul

First all thanks to those of you how left constructive, positive comments last week on my ranty post.  I know that some of you found it useful and interesting and I have benefitted from emails back and forth since then.

Yesterday evening I was sat at the dining room table happily squaring up a pile of HST blocks ready for a quilt that has been bubbling away in my head awaiting time to sew, and I received a text with a commission and a request for it to be done by Tuesday.

Truth be told the request was for a car wrap but I had sold out and I said I could make one by Tuesday.

I started to get my brain in gear and remembered that I had a road already made up and surprisingly I was able to find it quickly. So after some cutting and sewing by bedtime (albeit later than it should have been) it was finished:

Car wraps are one of my favourite things to make, possibly because I know how much Mathias loves is and I know how many times it has saved me from having a bored, fighty child in school assemblies.

I’m hoping that this one will be enjoyed and save the parents from moments of insanity and frustration.

Have you done any crazy last minute sewing recently?

  1. That’s a great design, bet little boys love them. I think sometimes we work better under pressure as we know we have no time for procrastination and have to just get on with it 🙂

  2. That is adorable! My son would loooove something like that for taking his cars on the go. This last week, I started and finished a messenger bag for our trip to Disneyland. It was very last minute, but I love how it turned out. 🙂

  3. What a great creation – my eldest gets so much use from the playmat with ‘garage’ pockets that I made for him – a smaller one for out and about is a fab idea.
