Sunday Stash #18

26 Oct

You know that thing when you wait for a bus and then three come along at once?  Well it felt a little bit like that this week on the fabric front.

The lovely Jo alerted me to a sale over at Fancy Moon last weekend.  She mentioned Echino and Melody Miller at £10 per metre so I dashed over casually checked it out; sat next to me on the sofa my husband pointed out a few he liked and later in the week this lot arrived:

echino
l-r Camera Red, Camera Green and Scooter Turquoise.

So he’s now pondering what he’d like me to make with a metre of each.

This week I also received the last bee block for my month (September) in the Siblings Together bee, so I pieced them all together and then pondered a backing. Not wanting to make it easy for myself I drew this in Touchdraw:

Siblings Together back

I didn’t have enough of the anything green or blue to make the cross so remembering that I’d seen M is for Make had a sale on I hopped on over to see if they had anything suitable.

This lot arrived on Friday lunchtime:

misformake

I’ve not seen these Kona Dimensions before; you can see the hexagons most clearly on the chartreuse of which I bought 1.25 metres, a fat quarter of the red and of the Michael Miller Dumb Dots in Boy and Navy.  Before it was time to pick up the children from school I had this:

quilt back

Since then it’s been pieced, basted and quilted, I just have the binding to handstitch down!  Oh, there is nothing quite like quick progress.

As of now (Sunday morning 8:30 UK time) both sales are still on – just in case you were wondering…

Go on over and see what others have been stashing or just acquiring to actually sew with:

  1. Popping in from Ms Molli’s Sunday link up … glad I did. Love love love your new fabric – very different – but reeeeeeeeally loved the fact you’ve told me where to go and buy some fabric on sale! Thank you and enjoy your new purchases 🙂

  2. I love the Kona dimensional fabric. I don’t think I’ve seen it before. The camera and scooter fabric is really cute too. Great additions.

  3. Oooh.. I have those Echino scooters / cameras as well, but in the natural colour. I was pulling them out this weekend asking Mr. Sparkles what he wanted me to make for him out of them! haha … I think you got them cheaper than I did when I bought them in Japan (on sale!) though!!!!
