Sunday Stash #20

23 Nov

It’s been a good week for stashing with little spending!

Last week I went to the launch of Fiona Pullens book Crafting a Creative Business at the Exeter Sewing Machine shop, goodie bags were given out and included fabric, including a FQ of Big Leaf in pink by Kaffe Fassett from Coats and a fat eighth of an unknown AGF print from Hantex (please leave a comment if you know what it is, edited to add: it’s NY Circuit from Gramercy by Leah Duncan, thanks Lucy).  It was also a great chance to meet up with a bunch of local (and not so local) stitchy ladies.  Emily and I had joined forces recently when I brought her attention to Cats Cradle in Raspberry – Catnap, Lizzy House for only £3 per yard at Fabric Guild!  Between us we bought probably all that remained (sorry, not sorry!), and Emily passed over my 3 yards last week:

There’s a packet of Aurifil in there too which came as a prize for October in the A Lovely Year of Finishes, thanks to Aurifil for being a generous sponsor of this.

During the summer Pink Chalk Studio ran a great series called Where I Sew and gave away gift certificates at the end of it, I won a $20 certificate.  For this I am obviously grateful and not complaining but when you live in the UK and shipping costs are so high it can end up being an expensive win!  But my friend Jo was off on a trip to Canada in October and was busy thinking about what fabric shopping she could do to order and pick up when she was there.  One of her hosts has a mail box in the USA so it was possible for her to get fabric delivered there.  Jo very kindly agreed to let me use this facility too.  Sadly Pink Chalk Fabrics have now shut up the fabric side of the shop (but Kathy has big plans, get an idea of what they are here) so had started reducing prices, I used my gift certificate to purchase these half yards (and paid less than £2 for postage):

I can’t quite remember what I was sewing at the time but I remember thinking that I need to stash some yellow and purple.  In my opinion one can’t go far wrong with Pearl Bracelets either!

I destashed a little this week too, sending some long hoarded boy fabrics off to the lovely Catrin who gave birth to a gorgeous boy recently, she has 2 girls and I thought she might need a head start on boy fabrics!

What have you been stashing?  I’d love to see, I’m linking up with Molli Sparkles:

  1. Well that Catrin is one lucky girl! One day she might even get around to writing you a proper thank you email ;0)
