A truly lovely year of finishes!

5 Jan

I’m a bit rubbish at doing an end of year review, I think about it and generally don’t do anything about it until we are too far into the next year to bother. BUT having the A Lovely Year of Finishes goals to review makes it all seem a little bit more manageable; so here is my mosaic of my finished goals for each month.  (For more info on each month just click the link and t will take you to the relevant blog post).

#ALYoF 2014 review

The first 3 months (Jan, Feb, March) were all about the quilt to give to my youngest brother and his wife as a wedding gift, I was seriously motivated to get it done and monthly goals were a real help.

April was about paper piecing (and the small matter of the wedding), in May I attempted to use up vintage sheet strings in a quilt (but still have so many left!).

June’s goal was to ensure that another quilt was finished for Siblings Together and July saw the string quilt finished.

August was the month for completing a quilt for a new niece and in September we had a week away and so I did some EPP and turned it into a bag.

Vintage sheets were in use again in October with the continuation of a Retro Flowers quilt (must add this to the list to finish in 2015).

This was the year to make a Christmas quilt, by the end of November it was finished, I am so pleased I made it, it has been very well used this last month especially on our holiday last week.

Lastly for some bizarre reason I decided to make December a month about clothes sewing not last minute Christmas makes!

Just reviewing each months goal here shows a small sample of what I sewed in 2014; I’ve impressed myself!

Thanks very much to Melissa and Shanna for the organising and motivating this last year and thanks to the generous sponsors too.
