WIP Wednesday

16 Sep

Well I think I’ve never had more than one quilt on the go before apart from when I was in the middle of Siblings Together quilts earlier this year.

I’m hand binding the Winterberry quilt:

Yesterday I finished piecing the blocks of the first scrappy log cabin quilt:

I have enough blocks left to make another of these.

I also pieced the first of 2 quilts for my month in the Siblings Together bee, I have enough blocks to make 2 thanks to the generosity of members and non-members of the bee:

On Friday night I started cutting pieces to make a quilt for a friends husband who is really ill, by Sunday lunchtime it was basted;

Quilting commenced and fairly close to the end I knew I was going to run out of thread, I put a plea on IG and the lovely Sue had some thread she was happy to send me.  It arrived yesterday and now I just need time to quilt but I have my boy home sick from school today 🙁

So yes that it 4 quilts in progress, plus a pile of the disappearing 9 patch blocks ready to piece.  Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery and some sewing time!

  1. So many lovely projects!! And so productive! I really love your scrappy log cabin. I need a project like this to utilize some precious scraps but I worry that my scraps are just not going to play well together. Perhaps a block like this one will be very forgiving. Hope your little one feels better!

  2. Wow, you have a lot of good projects going on. Really like the colors and fabrics in the quilt for your husband’s friend.

  3. I love all your projects – so many to choose from!! But especially your Winterberry – I have some modern Christmas fabrics that have been sat on my shelf for waaaay too long but I think they would look beautiful in a similar pieced top. Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Lots of great projects happening here! I really love your scrappy log cabin, and the colours on the ‘bricks’ quilt go so well together!
