In the last month I finished my scrappy log cabin quilt:
I then had a bit of a tidy up of my stash and discovered that for some reason had been storing large (smaller than a fat eighth) scraps in there! I transferred these to my scraps boxes which means that they are just as full as before I started the scrappy log cabin!
I was stitching the binding on the log cabin quit while having a stitchy morning with a friend, she’s
not wasn’t a quilter but decided she wanted to make one. So the following week I took a box of ready cut scraps and showed her how to make the block and started a few more of my own!
I must admit I am debating whether or not to donate these to her cause or continue making it myself!
I started another scrappy project last week when another friend wanted to learn paper piecing. After I’d gone through the basics and got her started on a Lone Starburst I pulled scraps and made my first outhouse:
She was a great student but I know I wasn’t concentrating properly as the door was supposed to be the same colour as the roof but I’m not unpicking. This is a great pattern for scraps, expect to see more!
