I had a birthday not so long ago and my lovely husband bought a couple of things off my wish list:
I’d been eyeing up Handmade Style since it’s release, I’m a fan of Anna’s bag patterns and read some good reviews of the book so was delighted to receive it. I now just need a bit of time to make all the things!
Something that has been on my list for a long time is the Haptic Lab world map kit, if you’ve not seen the Haptic Lab projects before you really should take a look. This will be my slow sewing project for the next year. I’ve ordered all the supplies I need (the kit contains the one use only template) so hopefully I can start stitching when the children break up from school.
My mum gave me some spending money which pretty soon was spent on 4 metres of this loveliness:
Found for a bargain price (£5.50 p/m) at, yes you guessed it Fabric Guild, I also bought 2 metres of a denim chambray which coincidentally looks pretty similar to the fabric of the dress Anna is wearing on the front of her book! Fabric Guild seem to be upping their game and along with Cotton and Steel prints (find them under Tokyo Train Ride) have a stock of Alexander Henry prints which are rather special but I’m not buying!
Have a great Sunday, I’m linking up with:
Sounds like you had a great birthday! Wow, I was not familiar with Heptic Labs. Their map quilts are incredible. Good luck with yours!
Now that’s a good haul! It looks like your husband bought you the perfect gifts! It pays to give them lists too!
Happy birthday! It sounds like your family knows you very well. 🙂
Happy birthday! I can’t wait to see what you make from that book!
