I can’t yet share the ‘thing’ I’ve spent most of my time on this week but here’s a little something I did last night while I had a pile of vintage sheet scraps pulled out:
It’s a paper pieced string block (tutorial here), I’ve had a desire to make a string quilt for a long time and yesterday was the time to play. It was simple, in fact the most complex thing was finding paper big enough (plans from the architect came in handy) as I wanted to make it 11″. So it works, now I just need to decide on my next move, random blocks, planned block. One thing is for sure I have plenty of strings left over from cutting vintage sheet charms that I can use!

Sounds and looks great, must give it a try. Looking forward to hearing what else you’ve been up to!
It is beautiful! That’ll make a very pretty quilt 🙂
Very pretty. Can’t wait to see the whole quilt!
Hope the architect doesn’t need them back ;o) Looking good though!
Oh yummy! This is going to be so lovely! Jxo
Great way to use up string scraps! Lovely colours too!
Love it! I just reorganised my vintage sheet stash. As yet I haven’t used any of it, but a string quilt is on the list.
So soft and pretty! Love string blocks.
