Last month I read this post of Leanne’s about scrappy bracelets and remembered one that I had made from precious scraps of Lori’s Holts Sew Cherry; I wear it often.
At the end of last half term one of Leah’s class mates was leaving school and Leah wanted to make her a little something to give her. Her friends favourite colour is purple so she dug through my purple scrap bin and chose some fabrics. I stitched them together, added a snap and low and behold we had a scrappy bracelet:
It was a hit. Bethan decided that she wanted one, she chose red scraps, stitched them together, I fitted the snap for her but pretty quickly she had one of her own.
I helped Leah make one for her, and then on last week I made 3 more, one for Mathias and one each for Leah’s friends who were coming to celebrate her birthday with her. I neglected to take a photo of them but this is the one I made for Mathias, with his choice of fabrics:
They are never going to be the best scrap busters but they use pieces as small as 2″ square and upwards and they are a fun make.
I’ve been making a slightly bigger effort to bust scraps since but more on that another day!
