Good news I finished piecing the Winterberry quilt top and I’m just waiting for backing and binding fabric to arrive:
I have 4 blocks left that I’ll probably convert in to a cushion cover with any left over backing and binding fabric.
For want of something to do (yes really) I pulled out the scrappy log cabins I’ve been working on and decided to make some more mini ones. They are 4.75″ square and 4 stitched together make a 9″ square block and will fit with my pile of 70+ 9″ blocks!
So those are all finished and then I started another lot, I found a box full of 1.5″ squares so have started off each block with a random pull from there:
I’ve made a bit of progress on my hand quilting but really I’m saving it to take on holiday next week. You can possible make out the section on the left that needs finishing and I’ll probably outline the whole piece too:
I’m hoping the weather will be sunny so I won’t feel a need to hand stitch but it’s not looking promising.
I’d also quite like to make myself a bag to take on holiday, something really quite small, just big enough for some cash, keys and lip balm, any pattern suggestions gratefully received,

Winterberry looks great. Very fun scrappy log cabins. Lots of fun stuff going on in your sewing room .
Love those colours in your Winterberry quilt…have one on my to-do list. As for bags, check out Julie’s zipper bag tutorial (4 parts) she posted last week. Pink Doxies.com
Love it all! The quilt is beautiful and those little log cabins are madly gorgeous!
