I think this is the biggest English paper piecing project I have finished (so far)!
It started off like this:
I swapped out some fabrics and put some new ones in. I’d prepared it before I sprained my ankle and didn’t know that it would be the thing that would keep me sane while confined to the sofa!
Rather than it taking all summer I had the EPP finished within a couple of weeks. I initially chose Kona grey for the background but had a major fail when placing the EPP on it, I cut the spare fabric from behind before I noticed my error. I didn’t have enough Kona grey left to try again so had to opt for Kona Coal:
I loved Susan’s quilting of hers in the magazine so blatantly copied her idea. I used a pink thread Aurifil 40 weight 2425, I’m really pleased with how it looks:
For the back of the cushion I used some Heather Ross Nursery Versery prints, the purple Confetti Dot by Dear Stella hides the zip closure:
So another cushion for our living room, thanks to Susan for a great pattern (issue 23, Love Patchwork and Quilting).
This project was on my finish along list for the 3rd quarter so I’m delighted to be able to link it up:
This is fabulous, I’m a bit partial to some fussy cutting and this is perfection. Great job!
Really nice project!
Beautiful cushion! Epp is slow but you get faster once you get going!
Totally gorgeous! Jxo
Lovely, my favourite bit is the red star popping out in the middle
It’s wonderful!
It’s still wonderful!
