As usual there’s been a fair bit of scrappy sewing going on this last month.
Octobers bee blocks for Julie Carol these were great fun to make although they did use up more scraps than I expected (that is not a complaint but a positive outcome!).
I’m quite tempted to make a quilt full of these myself, my husband particularly liked these blocks. I’m not sure I have enough solids in my stash though.
I finished my Winterberry quilt and I’m using most of the scraps in a cushion cover, there are still a few bits left – well ok they are the selvedges that I trimmed off from the strip sets. I’ve stitched them on to a piece of cloth and plan to make a little something with it. It’s quite satisfying to eek out every last piece of this fabric.

You are so good at using your scraps. I love the bee blocks especially.
Love those blocks! I’m with your hubby. I’d love to see a whole quilt with them. Love!
This block has been on my to do list for ages Mary – go ahead do the quilt! You do seem to take scrapping very seriously – using every last bit! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday!
I’ll be watching to see what you do with your selvages.
October is my month Mary, Julie was September! The blocks are even better IRL as you know. I’m a great advocate of using every little scrap!
Those bee blocks really do look great!
Those blocks would make such a fantastic quilt. I love the idea of using black and white scraps with different coloured solids 🙂
