WIP Wednesday and a call for pattern testers

2 Dec

I showed a sneak peek last week of what I’d been working on and now I’m pleased to say I have a finished quilt top:

UntitledI’ve been thinking about this for a while, I’m a fan of Welsh Blankets (if you don’t know what I’m talking about check out this site) and I don’t have the skills or equipment to weave one myself so I’ve done the next best thing (without buying one) and made up a quilt top: IMG_7632 This is in the colours of the one in our house when I was growing up, it was my Dad’s; a very Welsh man and today would have been his birthday so while he’s not around to see it, it’s a lovely reminder of him.

I’m just finishing writing up the pattern, if you’re interested in testing or proof reading for me please get in touch.  Here are some other versions of the quilt that I put together in Touchdraw: Untitled

I’d like to have it tested with feedback by the 18th of this month, I know it’s a busy time for many so please only volunteer if you have time.  Thanks.

  1. What a gorgeous quilt – I love the colour combination. I don’t have time to test the pattern, but could proof read it for you.

  2. The gray and white version makes me think of snow. I love the pattern. I could test a block or two but don’t have time to test the whole pattern. That is a lot of small pieces. And I would be happy to proof read it, too.

  3. Im Aldo happy to prof read. I wish i could offer to pattern test, but i wont have time to sew IT.

  4. That is a lovely quilt. I cannot be a pattern tester for you on this project. We are moving next week, just a few towns away. We’ve lived in our current home for 21 years, and have a basement that will take a week to clean out. I know I wouldn’t be able to test it by 12/18.
Please consider me for future pattern testing. I live in the U.S., and hope that is not a problem for you. If it is, let me know. I understand.
In the meantime, good luck with this pattern. I love it.

  5. Love the pattern Mary! I’d be happy to test the pattern, but I couldn’t make a whole quilt by the 18th December.

  6. Hi Mary, I just sam some of Nicky’s pictures about making this great pattern! Love to help and test is, but I imagine you are having the help you want already… Your quilt top just looks wonderful !!

  7. I am obsessed with welsh blankets and quilting! Been on the look out for a pattern like this for ages and I adore yours! If its not too late I would happily pattern test this for you, could have top done by end of January if that’s not too late?
