Last month I shared a photo of offcuts from a Preppy the Whale quilt:
Here is the whale quilt where the scraps originated:
I had a vague plan to make a cushion cover but after stitching them all together I decided to make a mini quilt. It was pretty much done on a whim on Sunday morning, I leisurely quilted it with Aurifil 2600, in my opinion it’s a great colour match with Kona silver. I had fun playing with the layout of the 2″ HST’s and it didn’t take long for my eldest to spot the ‘mistake’. It was planned and I love it: The back is fairly interesting too: Now I need to decide what to do with it, I’d like to hang it in my son’s room but I’m not sure he’d be happy to leave it on the wall!
This is such a fantastic scrap project. Love the lone squares in the triangles.
I’d happily hang that on my wall! Love the bright cheerful colours, and that square in the middle!
you could make it a game – spot the mini quilt! I think he would be mad not to love it. Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday
love your quilting and colors
