One of my goals for the first quarter of the 2015 FAL is to complete my Retro Flowers quilt. Â So it seemed logical to get working on it; over the last couple of weeks I’ve made great progress and at the weekend I laid the blocks out on the kitchen floor:
It was at this point that I realised it wasn’t as big as I thought it was going to be. So I pulled out the pattern and realised that the layout is 16 blocks rather than 9!
Hmmm I was, I admit slightly disappointed! I’ve spent a while pondering it and have decided to make 7 more blocks, today I cut all the fabrics and now need to get stitching. So there you have it my goal for the month is to get those blocks made! I may well go around the bend.

It is beautiful Thank you so very much for sharing. GOD bless.
Aww, man, sorry about that! I ended up doing my one on my own as a 3 x 3 LO which mum uses as a lap quilt (she’s teeny 😉 ) but the second one I got the Brit Bee girls to contribute to so it was real person sized!
It will be a lovely quilt when it’s finished. Good luck on your goal.
It’s so pretty!!
(love the post title, lol!!)
XX!
I made the same mistake this week with my Japanese +X quilt. I had made 16 blocks (4X4) then check ed and found the notes said 5X5. Grrrr! so still another9 blocks.
Your flowers look fab and the purple block makes me smile as those were the sheets I bought in 1975 when I first got married.
ALternatively…. big borders?! 😉
Love, love, love this!!! Keep going! Jxo
Oh – it is so cute though!! Worth the extra blocks 😉
It is positively lovely! Good luck with your blocks!
It is going to be so worth it! Even if you do end up a little around the bend!!
Mary Its beautiful! I hate it when that happens. And it DOES. A lot! But in the end its worth it! I love your color palette!
It’s going to be fabulous!
