One of my 2nd quarter FAL WIPS was this:
A pile of scrappy log cabins, I’ve no idea how many there were in that pile; I’m guessing it was 3 or 4 finished ones (at 9″ square) and 6 or so half made.
Last week I decided that as all my Siblings Together quilts were finished I could pull these out and do some mindless, carefree sewing.
On Sunday I had this to show:
I now have a pile of 56 finished blocks:
There has been no planning to this; I’ve just gone through my scraps bins and pulled out the small pieces and larger pieces, there is a huge selection, some fabric I’ve had at least 12 years! Yes I am someone who rarely throws stuff away even if it is brown!
I have a good few blocks on the go at once, chain piecing, pressing, trimming and back to chain piecing. I have just started another 21 blocks:
The only other thing I have on the go at the moment is the hedgehog quilt for Bethan, she’s selected the background fabric, I now just need to cut and sew.
Oh just one more thing, I need to make a birthday gift for Mathias to take to a party on Saturday, he wants me to make a boxy pouch for his friend using these fabrics:
Maybe I need to put those log cabins aside for an hour or so!

Scrappy log cabins for the win!
I just LOVE these scrappy log cabins, Mary!!!
