While having a sort out in the drawers in my sewing space I found a bag of scraps which were left over from making this quilt 3 years ago! It really is scrap, they are trimmings from the block assembly and in my mind too big to throw away:
I fairly mindlessly started stitching them together, any suggestions as to what I should do next?
I started this vintage sheet pillow cover last week, quilting it had been slow and boring as I decided to use the variety of decorative stitches on my machine and some of them are quite complex and take ages.
But the quilting is finished now so I need to square it and turn it into a pillow cover.
To keep my hands busy the last few evenings I’ve been basting a few hexies; I’ve gone through my scrap boxes and cut a hexie from every piece that was big enough.
I’m thinking that I will make flowers of each colour and eventually piece them together in to a quilt for us. It will be full of memories, I was prompted to do this after making the scrappy log cabins quilts this year which have now gone to Siblings Together but the children spent a lot of time pointing out fabrics they recognised and what item they have been used in.
Last week I also found a bag of HST’s already stitched into squares, these are the leftovers from making binding for Parson Gray quilts for Siblings Together:
These are just 2″ square so aren’t going to make anything on a large scale. They are still laid out like this waiting for inspiration to strike!

Lots of fun projects. They all look great.
