This is the first (and hopefully not only) tick off my 2nd quarter FAL list. My aim was to get the third of my Welsh Blanket quilt patterns – Peony, made into a quilt top.
At the start of the quarter it mostly looked like this:
Now I’m delighted to show you this:
I’m really pleased that it turned out like I planned. The finished size is quite big at 87.5″ square so it was a bit of a struggle for Tobit to get it pegged up for this photograph. I’m not relishing the thought of quilting this so am currently exploring my options.
Edited to add: a kind reader spotted the error in the bottom right of the quilt – that has easily been fixed and is now correct.
Now I need to get my head down and write up the pattern – possibly my least favourite part of the process.
I’ll be linking up when the time comes.
Woohoo! It looks great!!!!
Lovely – the colours are wonderful and well done on the progress!
Oh yes, I love the colours/fabrics you used for this! This is my favourite of the three I think, with the effect of a circle in it. I’m not sure I’ll be making such a large quilt anytime soon though… I’ve finished a big one not too long ago, and had to take special measures to be able to quilt it! Although saying that, it looks like this could be a good candidate for quilt as you go, maybe.
I love it and think this is my favourite so far of all the Welsh Blanket quilts. Mind, I said that about each of the others!!!
I love it Mary and definitely want to make one ! So if I can I would like to encourage you to write that tutorial ! Like Helen I think this might be my favourite yet!
Your patterns are so beautiful, this might be my favourite so far. Thank you for participating in the FAL, on behalf of the 2016 global FAL hosts.
