There ain’t nuffin’ like a puffin

At the beginning of January I wrote my 1st quarter FAL list and included this pile of fabric:

The plan was to quickly turn them into a Linden sweatshirt for me; so why a week ago had I still not done it?  I’ve made 2 recently so I  decided that with the end of the quarter looming I really needed to get on with it.

On Monday (my one day at home) after making bread and pastry case for dinner I cut and sewed and by early evening I had a finished sweatshirt!

I love the other 2 Lindens I made and learnt from those that I like a slightly longer length to the body so I added 2″ to the front and back pieces and am happy with how that’s turned out.

I was fortunate to have red thread in stock for my overlocker and while this was a quick make it also includes the time I took to top stitch around the neck, sleeves, cuffs and hem – I love how this gives it a more professional touch.

So thanks to the FAL team for a deadline to motivate me, I don’t think I’ll have anything else to link up before it closes this evening!

  1. This is great, I love puffins (though I have never seen any for real)! I have been thinking maybe I should try the Linden, too, I have seen several around and they all look good. And yours look extra professional with the topstitching! I suppose I will have to ask around if I can borrow an overlocker, though… and dig out the knit fabric I got years ago!
