So a new year and a new finish along but sadly a whole bunch of carry forwards:
I started a quilt a year ago with a pile of shirts belonging to my husband, son and myself that I deconstructed a while ago. At the moment the plan is to make something similar to Kaffe Fassett’s stripe-shirt boxes quilt.
I made a start on this Siblings Together quilt with fabric from Jo; I’ve not had a chance to touch it in the last 2 quarters. This is a completely random layout of all the blocks I have made:
Sailors Top – I have the pattern and the fabric; just, it appears still no motivation:
I’ve made no progress on this one: new placemats; I opted to open up some charm packs that have been in my stash for long enough.
I have been slowly and steadily hand quilting this low volume quilt that I pieced in May/June. I’ve quilted 48/64 blocks, so not too many left; then of course I’ll have to choose some binding fabric!
This was started in October, initially the plan was to finish it for a birthday that month, then I was going for Christmas….
I need to make a storage pot for the swap at the Threadhouse Retreat in 2 weeks time! It’s a secret so this is all I can show you for now.
For retreat I also need to make a name badge – I have a plan but it’s secret.
In the run up to Christmas I ordered some Charley Harper and Birch knit fabrics; today I paid the ransom custom charge to have it released so it should be delivered next week. The plan is to make:
Skater dress for B
Rowan Tee for L
Rowan Tee for M
Fen or Out and About dress for me
I took part in a swap in 2014 of paper pieced shirts (pattern by Carolyn Friedlander. I used 4 of them in a cushion cover and the rest of them are still waiting to be stitched in to something.
Another paper pieced pattern by Carolyn Friedlander – I think this would make a great mini quilt:
Oh my goodness! So many awesome projects. What a great way to repurpose the shirts. I’m sure the project will turn out great. Love, love the scrappy circles quilt. Great color combinations. I also really, really like the scrappy log cabin quilt with its hand quilting! Just gorgeous. Last but not least I’m in love with the little house. So cute and right up my alley! 🙂
There is a whole lot of colorful scrappy goodness here. Love the handquilting you’re doing and the paperpieced shirts are adorable. On behalf of the FAL crew, good luck, and thanks for joining up!
Good luck!
