In preparation for FQ Retreat there are a bunch of swaps that one can sign up for. This year knowing that we would be in the middle of a building project on our house I opted out of these.
But with the gorgeous name tags that kept popping up in the Flickr group I decided on Monday evening that I had to have a name badge. So I spent the evening with fabric, selvedges and interfacing:
I used some keys from the Type fabric by Julia Rothman, background is words from Polka Dot Stitches by Lori Holt.
For the back I used some map fabric from one of the charm swaps I took part in. I thought it might be useful if I get lost at the weekend:
Oh and I made one for my friend Jo too because she was suggesting that she might just use a white sticky label:
Time was short so I fussy cut the letters from Alphabetti by Lucie Summers (Jo’s in one of her classes at the weekend so may win some brownie points).
The back is some Wordplay by Michele D’Amore and includes a bicycle from Erin McMorris just to remind Jo of the 55 miles she cycle the other weekend for charity.
So now I won’t feel like a numpty with no name badge:
They are perfect! Can’t wait to meet you tomorrow!
Gorgeous! I love that London underground fabric – reminds me of home :-)Have an amazing weekend.
They’re just perfect! So creative.
Thank you Mary! So much nicer than a sticky label
They are both fabulous … And they were helpful too … As I’m bad at names and faces.
