Yesterday my children went back to school after the half term break so I had the opportunity for uninterrupted sewing time. I decided to tackle my retro flowers and now I have 16 finished blocks waiting for the next stage. These are the seven that I have been working on (after realising 9 were not enough!):
Can you pick a favourite? I can’t…
I finished the triangle quilt top, it ‘just’ needs pressing, basting, quilting and binding:
I used the leftovers fabrics from the triangle to cut squares and rectangles for a plus quilt. I’ve pieced all the rows and stitched rows 2-10 together. The stitching rows together is a little slow going because I’m trying to ensure that my plus lines all meet up, as I’ve not used squares for the main body of the plus there is no seam line to guide me but so far it’s looking fine I think!
I now have an even bigger pile of Home Sweet Home blocks for Siblings Together, it grows every day thanks to the generosity of quilters around the world. We already have enough for the first quilt and I know there are many more blocks on the way. Thank you.
