Good morning, it’s a very chilly one here, for the first time since October I got up at 7am and went to the car boot sale, it was -1.5 degrees! I didn’t find anything and I am so glad to be back home in the warm.
This is a Sunday Stash post that I thought I would never share; I won the Sew Mama Sew giveaway hosted by Latifah Saafir Studios on Facebook, to say I was excited is an understatement. Latifah in LA posted this to me in the UK on 18 December:
In the new year I had a couple of parcels from the USA including one that took only 5 days to arrive, so as time went by I resigned myself to the fact that this particular one would never arrive.
Then on Friday 13 February guess what the postman delivered? Yes, an envelope stuffed full with goodies. The envelope bore no trace of being stuck anywhere or travelling 3 times around the world so who know why it took quite so long to arrive!
I think I’ve only ever bought charm packs once but been gifted a few so know how useful they are. Giveaways can be great for being introduced to fabrics you’ve not seen before or wouldn’t normally choose. The Windham charm packs are gorgeous and will be great fun to work with, I’ve spied some metallic in there. The Kona charm pack contains all the new 2014 colours, pretty delicious they are too.
I’ve never bought mini charm packs or candy as Moda call them, I’ve had a few in goodie bags from Fat Quarterly Retreat and they’ve been great for quick little projects:
I’m slightly excited to have a mini charm pack of Cotton and Steel basics, I’ve not been sucked in by the C&S hype but I’m not saying no to these!
And then there is this:
The Cotton and Steel and Kona canvas bags and other extra quilt market goodies that Latifah so kindly included. A FQ of a print from the Ashton Road collection by Valori Wells, Tula Pink Elizabeth sticker, Sew Demented tattoos and lip balm, and Cloud 9 washi tape!
Oh yes that was all worth waiting for! I’m feeling very lucky and in amongst all that the postman has been delivering these:
They are Home Sweet Home blocks for a Siblings Together quilt drive, if you want to get involved you can read more here, donations of blocks, wadding, binding, backing fabric all gratefully received (or funds for any of these).

I’m afraid my home sweet home blocks won’t be as exciting as your booty from the USA but I’d be grateful for your home address so I can get them off to you. Jenny
Oh, you’re going to have fun with that lot!
Wow Mary – what a fantastic haul!
The fact that this arrived safely after so long is encouraging for me as I too have been waiting for some fabric that was sent in December from the US!!
Oooh that’s a lovely selection especially like the look of those Windhams and how great it finally turned up!
Oh I have proper envy right now, so glad they arrived, maybe they went on the slow boat instead of the fast plane?
Lucky lady, even if you were a little delayed!
