I gained some extra sewing time this morning as I had a medical appointment cancelled (again) so I’ve managed to get the borders on my retro flowers quilt (yes I had enough yardage left – phew):
At some point I need to have a rummage through my vintage sheet stash and see what I’ve got big enough to back this.
During the last week I’ve managed to baste and quilt the modern plus quilt for Siblings Together:
I’ve got some strips cut for binding but as I also have the triangle quilt to baste, quilt and bind I’m waiting to come up with the right mix of fabrics for the finished quilts. They will be scrappy bindings, using all the leftovers from the quilt.
I’ve just also done a fabric pull to make some churn dash blocks for Joanne for another Siblings Together quilt or 2:
I’m hoping to get these made in the next day or so. If you’d like to make some, please find the details here.
Home Sweet Home blocks are continuing to arrive here, so far we have 82 and tell tale threads from Canada put together a quilt top at a retreat last weekend and will be sending it over with her brother in May:
It is so fantastic the support received for this quilt drive, not just from quilters in the UK but worldwide, there is still time to contribute blocks for girls or boys.
I’m not sure if I should even mention it but believe it or not I’ve not touched the hexies (apart from moving them out of the way) and there is no progress on shirts or outhouses!

Nice quilts. I really like the fabrics in the plus qult.
I am so excited to see such a great response and so many making blocks for Siblings Together! Yay!
I love your plus and flower quilts, looking forward to seeing what you do next with them 🙂
XX!
You have been busy! You’ve got my address so that you can send me retro when it’s finished right?
Now I can see why you wanted to be rescued from the quilts!
A very productive (and gorgeous!) week – hope you get your appointment soon!
