Sunday Stash #33

29 Mar

Oh my sometimes there is just to much going on to do all the things!  I feel so relieved that the children have now finished school for the Easter holidays and we don’t have too much to do.

This weekend the Spring Quilt Festival is on in Exeter, I knew on Tuesday that I would be too busy at the weekend to go so I managed to find 2 hours free on Friday morning when I could go.

One of the main reasons for going was to pick up a bolt of wadding/batting for the Siblings Together quilts, saving myself the expense of the postage.  I’ve not taken a photo of it as it’s really not that exciting to look at but I did get a 15m bolt of Sew Simple cotton wadding that should do for a good few quilts!

I was on the look out for bargain fabrics for quilt backings but didn’t come across anything that I thought would work well for the ‘boy’ quilts that we’re producing.

I did however pick up some bargain fabrics to add to my stash, you can’t go wrong with 10 FQ’s for £10!

Top centre clockwise:
Close To Home by Sara Post for P&B Textiles
American Jane Patterns by Sandy Klop
Out To Sea Pirates in Pearl Grey by Sarah Jane
Sew Cherry by Lori Holt (Bee in My Bonnet)
Moss Paintbox – Lush Uptown by Erin Michael
Bird Dot from Collage by Carrie Bloomston
Sew Cherry by Lori Holt (Bee in My Bonnet)
Waterfront Park by Violet Craft

Sew Cherry is one of my favourite ever fabric lines, I bought a FQ bundle of it and made 2 quilts with it for Siblings Together and have hoarded the scraps for use in little projects, so I was quite delighted to find FQ’s of it!

To enhance my low volume stash I bought 2 metres of Stella Dot by Dear Stella:

In my opinion you can’t go far wrong with Pearl Bracelets:

It also happens to be the opinion of my daughters too, they have it in clothing and spot it wherever it appears! So I bought a metre of green and coral. The top print is All About Colour by Fabric Freedom, I’ve had scraps of this print in purple and it’s a great stash basic and I was lacking orange in my stash.

I got back from the show to surprise post from Judith:

Freebird by Momo (spots on brown)

It’s 3 metres of Freeboard spots on brown by Momo and Judith very kindly donated it for the Siblings Together quilt backs.  Judith is destashing stock leftover from her classes in her etsy shop, discounted to a little as £5 per metre!  She has stock of a number of Kona solids, Anna Maria Horner, Tilda, Heather Bailey and more, check it out now before it’s all gone!

So all in all a great week for stashing, I’m off to help prepare for a day entertaining some of my family so it’s time to link up with:

  1. £10 for 10 FQs- that’s a bargain you can’t pass by!! I may just check out that Etsy shop now, I mean it’s been at least two days since I bought any fabric…

  2. Thanks for listing what your FQs are …. Now I know exactly what I bought too! They were the best bargain at the show, well spotted!
