No I am not ready for Christmas; I’m not even thinking about it other than the fact that I finished this quilt:
It was my goal for September and on my finish along list for the 3rd quarter and despite other things entering the mix this month I still managed to get it finished.
It’s been on my list since April! I won the fabrics in a giveaway on instagram from Gloria, founder of Kate and Birdie:
The back isn’t the most exciting, I would have loved to back it with flannel as it will be a winter quilt but I couldn’t find anything that worked and I just wanted to get it finished:
The colour of the backing in stone, it looks better in this photo:
I think the light at this time of year makes photography tricky!
I quilted it with Aurifil 50 weight 2021 either side of each block seam line:
I had four blocks left and have stitched them together with the plan to make a cushion cover:
I think I’ve just got enough left of the backing and binding fabric to complete this.

It’s a beautiful quilt 🙂 I like the way you’ve kept the quilting to a simple pattern to match the patchwork. And what a lovely pack of fabric to win and play with!
It’s lovely!
This is a lovely quilt and a great finish, congratulations.
Lovely cool Christmassy quilt – it’s beautiful.
Just beautiful. Gorgeous fabric and a great pattern choice 🙂
