It’s been half term holidays here this week, there’s been a fair amount of exhaustion and feeling under the weather so it’s been mostly a staying at home, relaxing kind of week, interspersed with fabric deliveries 😉
First is a stack of fabrics I bought from a fabric shop that was closing down on Etsy:
These kind of sales can be a bit risky, ok so there was 60% off but the deal is that if the fabric that you order is out of stock you get a refund rather than a chance to choose something else. That is fine but when ordering from the USA it’s always best to get as much fabric as you can into a FRE to maximise the value. This shop owner can only fit 7 yards in a FRE (compared to other shops that can squeeze in 10) and one of the prints I wanted was out of stock so I only ended up with 6 yards.
And sadly the said shop owner filled out the customs form with a value for the amount ordered not the amount sent which meant it tipped me over in to a customs charge. I don’t really mind paying the VAT but the handling fee of £8 irritates me!
Anyway rant over; what did I get? Â Stripes would be the simple answer:
Half-inch stripes in aqua by Riley Blake
At the time of ordering this lot I was finishing off a few quilts for Siblings Together and was feeling a need for stripy binding to finish them off and my stash was distinctly lacking in that department.
Juicy stripes in green by Andover Fabrics
This doesn’t look so stripy in the photo, it is a really fine white and green stripe.
Clown Stripe in coral by Michael Miller.  This is a lighter colour than how it appears on my screen, the name coral should be an indication of what it really looks like! Paris Airmail in lime and blue by Riley Blake. These diagonal stripes are brilliant, I might have to design a quilt with these in mind for the binding (whether it will ever get made is a different matter!) This last one is obviously not stripy but I do lack red in my stash and really struggle to find good reds so in an attempt to fill up the envelope I ordered this too: Garden Rings in red from Pam Kitty Garden for Bakehouse Dry Goods.  A lovely stress free parcel arrived yesterday from the lovely Kerry, she held a giveaway on IG to celebrate reaching 1000 followers:
Some great fabrics and 7 yards of ribbon/tape.
We are all taken with this ombre fabric by V and Co from the Simply Colour range:
and yes you are right I couldn’t be bothered to iron for the photo!
The other prints are Gardenia Row in Ink a Freshcut print by Basic Grey for Moda, unknown navy print, it looks like a Lonni Ross print but I don’t know and last is Letterpress from Just My Type by Patty Young (Michael Miller). Â I’ve long admired this print but never bought and so I’m delighted to add it to my stash and even more so because it’s red!
Thanks Kerry for the winnings and for brightening my day!

I’ve no idea what that Navy one is either 😀
