March check-in – Fabriholics Anonymous

28 Mar

March has been a good month.

I’ve resisted buying this:

Can you believe that price? If you buy a yard it is only £3, so I think I get double points for not buying it. But if someone wants to buy me yardage for Mother’s Day on Sunday I really wouldn’t mind it arriving late 😉

I did buy fabric this week, it arrived yesterday.  But it was an essential purchase for binding the quilt I’m making as a wedding gift for my brother and his wife.

I’ve bought vintage sheets too but that’s allowed:

I’ve also discovered that my local fabric shop has started stocking quilting cottons. Up until now it was great for decor weight, dressmaking and fancy dress type fabrics so never much of a temptation. Now they have some Michael Miller, Windham and Stof fabrics, it’s an interesting selection, here’s a peek of a little of it:

April looks like being a busy month with school holidays and a trip to London so there may be even less time for fabric window shopping!

I can’t wait to see how others have fared this month, I’m linking up with:

  1. Only fabric to cross my threshold was from the vintage sheet swap. Couldn’t even buy vintage sheets as there were none when I went hunting. As for other fabric shopping. I have looked and not bought. But then I’ve not sewn a stitch all month! Eek!

  2. You are a BAD BAD fabric enabler!!!! I think I will be on the fabric famine soon!
I may have just bought myself a few yards for Mothers Day! At least I’ll like what I get…….

  3. good for you for staying strong while at your LFS. i can’t set foot inside of mine or i’d walk out with something.

  4. Well you know better than anyone that I failed! However did you know I live close to the Fabric Guild and can sort you out with some Bike Path? I bought 3m of the blue to make a dress last weekend, all the bits are cut out. They don’t take online payment, they ring you a few days later to sort out your order so it would honestly be quicker if you did, I can only go on Sundays though 🙂

  5. In fairness, I think I’ve been spending enough on fabric to restart the economy, so good job you are balancing it with restraint 😉

  6. I am so tempted but I really, really broke the fabric budget this month, and not just with the Wee Wander that arrived today. I’ve been very naughty!

  7. I’m not sure I’d be able to resist that bike path fabric, you have incredible restraint!

  8. I’m not sure I would want to admit to my purchases, though in the month of March all I bought was 3 remnants, which is a miracle really!
