Since the last Sunday Stash the remainder of my thread order arrived:
l-r Aurifil 50 weight 1125 Asiatic Blue to match Kona Mediterranean and 1135 Sunflower to match Kona Canary
So I got on and quilted the Groove quilt last weekend, it’s totally finished and was gifted to the newly weds on Friday; it’s in the queue for a blog post to be written.
It’s my turn in November to be Queen Bee in the Siblings Together Bee, so I’ve been mulling over ideas and thinking about quilt backings. I saw that Fabric Guild had some great prints suitable for quilt backing for £3.30 p/m so I ordered some, they arrived this week:
First there is a FQ of Riley Blake Pop in red just because it’s red and I struggle to find red fabrics:
I bought 2 metres of this Under the Sea print by Adlico Textiles, it would have been perfect for backing the Preppy Whale quilt I made earlier this year, but as I didn’t have it then it will be perfect for a shirt for a small person:
4 metres of each, they will be just right for quilts. They are both from the Vacation line by Makower and you can still find them here if you have a ‘need’ for quilt backings or other projects.
Yesterday I saw that Kerry was having a destash over on IG and that she had a Curvemaster presser foot for sale. When I made the Retro Flowers quilt a couple of years ago I contemplated buying this foot but ended up spending a lot of time pinning curves instead.
Kerry lives not far from me so I cycled over to hers yesterday afternoon to pick this up. I opened my Sizzix and cut the drunkards path components and had a play:
It’s not perfect but I’m pretty pleased with how quick it came together, so I’m looking forward to having another go.
I am linking up with the everso sparkly Molli who is celebrating 200 editions of Sunday Stash, there’s an awesome giveaway and a fancy new button:
Pretty fabrics! The whales are particularly cute.
I had no idea there was a curved piecing foot! I’ll have to look into that.
