It feels like it’s a bit late to be saying ‘Happy New Year’ so I’ll just get on with it!
Over the holiday period I sewed my first Linden sweatshirt using Anna Maria Horner knit from Sunday Stash #61:
And then I made a second from fabric I shared in Sunday Stash #68
These successes led me to start searching for more knit fabrics and I came across a new to me shop – Jelly Fabrics selling mainly knit fabrics. I had an idea of what I wanted but was struggling to match fabrics online so I emailed Angela the shop owner and had the most helpful responses; she suggested fabrics to go with the puffins and sent photo’s of the various combinations. This is what arrived yesterday:
The grey is ribbing for the cuffs and the orange is to go with some knit I have in stock.
I also saw that Prints to Polka Dots had some lawn in the sale so I bought 1.25 metres of the Dashwood Studio September Blue fabric by Susan Driscoll. I have plans to make a Sailor Top by Fancy Tiger with it, using the Creativebug class.
I added in a FQ of Art Gallery – Maker Scissors just because its quite lovely and has metallic dots!
Yesterday I popped in to Exeter Sewing Machine shop to stock up on one of my essentials: Gutermann polyester white thread, I’m also nearing the end of a spool of Aurifil 50 wt 2600 while working on a quilt for my niece so I now have plenty to keep me going – hopefully to finish the quilt.
WOW! The sweatshirts are gorgeous!! I love your fabric choices ?
