I started this quilt back in November as a gift for my niece’s 18th birthday. It was on my FAL list for this quarter and I’m delighted to have finished it.
The ‘frame’ for each hexagon is Kona medium grey, all the remaining fabrics are from my vintage sheet collection, mostly from the scrap basket. You can find more about this quilt here.
I don’t know how many different prints are in this quilt; there are a fair few repeats but there are also a few one offs; the last bit of that fabric I had.
You can see a peek of the backing fabric here; it’s a vintage Jonelle (John Lewis) sheet printed with hexagons which gives the impression of a double sided quilt:
I hand quilted around the inside of each hexagon (225 of them!) with threads from my box; it was time consuming but so worth it, I love the result.
The binding is a stripy vintage sheet which handily picks out the colours in the quilt.

This is lovely Mary, the grey sets off the vintage fabrics really well.
